I first met the bride when she graciously (and amazingly) did the hair and makeup for my best friend Courtney's wedding. I liked her immediately. On a day when it was easy to get caught up in the pressure to make everyone look perfect under some serious time constraints, Olga maintained a clear head and touch of humor. While she may have had to yell "get in the fucking shower already!" a couple of times, it was obvious she had Courtney's wedding day, and only that, in mind.
Since Court's wedding, Matt and I have become better friends with Olga and Brian, her super-tall groom. Brian is a chef, Olga is a wine director; it made perfect sense that this wedding would have some serious food and drink. Beyond their culinary love, the two of them trade jokes, sweet nothings, and insults alike; making them one of my favorite couples. While the rain on Saturday was relentless, there was no drowning out this party. We ate, drank, danced, sang and laughed until what I thought was the wee hours of the morning. It was probably about ten PM. Starting to drink at 4 may be a touch aggressive. Us eight booze bags were strategically placed at the table right next to the bar. Not that you won't be able to tell by the following photos.
