About

aboutmehello

I'm Allie.

I'm twenty-eight (when did that happen?), working in mobile, and living in Boston.

I travel. Rather often. And preferably alone.

When I was approximately five years old, I used to concoct elaborate fictitious tales in my little, juice-soaked brain, and would dictate them to one of my parents to record for me. They were always good sports, jotting down whatever gibberish I was spurting, never questioning my plot line or lack of character development. I thought, from that age until smack in the middle of adolescence, that I would be a writer when I grew up.  When I began to be intrigued by business, however, I slowly came to realize that I could have both a career and a passion. Writing will always remain a passion, which is one of the many reason I started this blog.

I have had the domain neverbroken.com since I was an undefined teenager, living in suburbia. What I have done with this space has changed a multitude of times over the past twelve or so years, but my love of words and design has always been at the forefront.

Initially something that would be comprised of funny stories and life lessons is now a full-fledged, almost "food blog", with anecdotes and photos sprinkled along the way. I started cooking a few years ago, after a tumultuous relationship with food for most of my teenage years and early twenties. What I once looked at as only a source of calories is now something much more substantial; now I know that cooking brings people together. And things that taste good, when fresh and meticulously made from scratch, are always worth it.

Similarly, photography has become an increasing part of my content in the past few months. After recently purchasing an SLR, taking a couple classes, and photographing my dog upwards of a thousand times, I have started to get a grip on what constitutes a "good picture". While I am nowhere near a professional, I am happy that the caliber of images that supplement these stories and recipes are improving with each post.

That's a short summary of what you will find here; words, stories, food, and photos. Beyond that, I hope you get to know me on a bit more candid level throughout these pages. Sure, I like to cook. You may also come to realize I am a fantastic romantic with a penchant for alcohol and friends. I don't mind late nights, or mornings, especially when the latter comes with a day off, bacon and champagne. I am also a die-hard Bostonian, and love to recap exploits of my fair city.

Just over four years ago, I started dating a good friend of mine. He was living in LA, I in Boston, and it was a far-fetched dream that it would work out at first.

But after he moved across the country, and we lived in a bunch of apartments, and embarked upon approximately a thousand drunken nights together; he asked me to marry him in July of 2012. As
cliché as it may be to say; Matt is my best friend, and I am absolutely stoked to spend the rest of my days with him.

As of May 2011, there is our also our Chihuahua, Admiral Ozzie Beauzekas, who likes to share his thoughts from time-to-time on here. He's as opinionated as he is goddamn adorable, and I am so thankful to have added him to the mix.

So that about wraps it up; expect to find eloquent words, intoxicated recaps, stunning photos, creative recipes and the ramblings of a dog within these here pages. The rest of my precious domain, neverbroken dot com, is dedicated to Matt and my own creative endeavors; music and design, respectively. I hope you check us out, come back often, and get in touch. I am really so, so happy that you're here.
